Hand & Power Tools

Hand and power tools are common parts of our everyday lives, both in our homes and at work. They allow us to tackle tasks with ease that would otherwise be challenging to complete. However, since these tools are so commonplace, we often forget about the risks of improper use. Special attention toward hand and power tool safety is necessary in order to reduce or eliminate these hazards. Portable power tools are designed for a wide variety of uses. Circular saws, jigsaws, drills, hammer-drills, sanders, grinders, routers and numerous other power tools, save time and effort on the job. The increased use of power tools heightens the need for awareness of the hazards they present if not operated properly. Portable power tools are often made with interchangeable batteries. This means that the same battery that powers the drill may also be able to power the sander. Some portable tools are more specialized and less versatile. Examples of such tools are power wrenches and power hammers. While only able to perform one or two functions, these tools are smaller and lighter than traditional power tools, and often fit in a tool belt compartment
